Trident Seafoods is seeking a Fuel & Store Foreperson to inventory, store, price, and restock merchandise in a retail setting, while dispensing fuel to vessels and plant operations and maintaining fuel records.

The role requires prior fuel/store experience, basic English, and math skills for cash handling; a certificate or related training is preferred. Physical work includes handling items and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Has worked in Fuel & Store position in a Trident location within the past year.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak basic English; basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; accurate cash transactions using US currency

Responsibilities

  • Takes inventory or examines merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
  • Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received
  • Dispense fuel to vessels, vehicles, plant operations through various means; maintain related dispensing/sales records
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of fuel sold and/or allocated
  • Work with plant staff to ensure equipment is functional and operational
  • May write up invoices for fuel sales to vessels, reconcile sales with fuel stores and balance invoices

Responsibilities

Summary:

Inventories, stores, prices, and restocks merchandise displays in retail store by performing the following duties. Dispense fuel in a safe and secure manner to vessels, gas dock, plant operations, as dictated by location.

Note: Fuel and Store Foreperson I residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least eight hours of work is offered.

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs)

  • Takes inventory or examines merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
  • Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received
  • Dispense fuel to vessels, vehicles, plant operations through various means. Maintain all records related to the dispensing/selling of fuel.
  • Manages the daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of fuel sold and/or allocated.
  • Works with plant staff to ensure equipment is functional and operational.
  • In some locations, may be responsible for writing up invoices for fuel sales to vessels, reconciling sales with fuel stores at the end of their shift and submitting report for balancing out invoices and sales of fuel sold
Qualifications

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • Has worked in Fuel & Store position in a Trident location in the past year.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak basic English. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to accurately conduct cash transactions using American money

Work environment (includes travel/on-call):

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or up to 40 pounds.
