Job summary

Standard Construction Co. is seeking a Sand & Gravel Plant Groundman to support plant operations in the Mississippi region. You will help maintain crushers and washers, perform manual tasks, and assist with housekeeping and safety procedures.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work varying shifts (nights/weekends), and reliable attendance. Previous construction or quarry experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic math and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aggregate crusher, washer and surrounding area for safe operation.
• Assist with cleaning, painting, lifting, and mechanical tasks as needed.
• Report production issues to supervisor or lead person.
• Work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, when required.
• Travel or work away from home as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintaining aggregate crusher, washer, and surrounding environment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Shoveling; sweeping; steam cleaning; painting; tire work; mechanical assistance; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects.
• Communicating production issues to supervisor or lead person.
• Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Able to work overtime when required.
• Other duties as assigned per supervisor.

Qualifications:
