Job summary

SilverRide is seeking independent contractor drivers in the San Leandro area to transport seniors and individuals with disabilities. You will use your own 2014+ vehicle to provide safe rides to doctor visits, social events, and other activities.

Flexible hours Monday–Friday, with a minimum commitment of about 6 hours per day, 4 days per week. Compensation varies by area and contract, with per-ride pay ranging from $25–$35+.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Must hold a valid California driver’s license.
• Must own a vehicle to drive clients.
• Vehicle must be 2014 or newer and in good condition.

Responsibilities

• Drive clients to appointments and activities in your own vehicle.
• Provide safe, courteous transportation and assist passengers as needed.
• Comply with credentialing and client-specific requirements (training, background checks).
• Maintain vehicle insurance and a professional appearance.

Our innovative, award-winning ride-share platform is looking for independent contractor drivers in the San Francisco area!

Do you want to join a team that is radically helping seniors and those who need an extra helping hand? Do you enjoy drivingand helping people? Are you looking for a flexible schedule?

Our unique transportation service helps seniors and people with disabilities with trips to the doctor, social outings, and more by providing personal service and an extra helping hand.

The job will require driving your own vehicle. We currently have openings in the East Bay (specifically San Leandro, El Sobrante, Concord, and Livermore).

Hours of service are Monday-Friday, 6:00am-5:30pm. Hours are flexible - more or less depending on your needs and availability (though we do ask for a minimum of 6 hours/day, 4 days/week).

• MUST USE YOUR OWN CAR. We don't provide company vehicles
• Must have a valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must have valid driver’s vehicle insurance
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Must have a 2014 or newer 4-door vehicle (sedans or standard SUVs/minivans only) in good condition that can pass a state vehicle inspection
• Must be 21 or older
• Must have had at least one year working with seniors aged 55+
• Must be able to pass a background check; no felonies or DUI/DWIs will be accepted
• Must have vaccinated for Covid (at least two doses) and Influenza

Credentials

Each of our clients require different levels of credentialing. Credentialing can include items on the list below. If you, as an independent contractor, do not have the level of credentialing a particular client needs, or they require that all new drivers for their contract take certain training again, SilverRide can either provide that training to help get you on the platform or point you to where you can get it on your own.

• Pre-employment drug testing; random drug testing once employed
• DOT Physical (medical certificate), including TB testing
• CPR certification
• Defensive Driving course completion

Compensation

• Pay depends on the area and contract you are driving for and ranges $25-35+/ride depending how many passengers you have.
• $200 sign-on bonus with first paycheck
• Pay is weekly by direct deposit
• We offer occupational accident insurance which is the almost the same as worker’s comp – even though you are an independent 1099 contractor!
