Description

Summary

Field Technician will deliver a high level of customer service to all customers at the highest professional level. The Field Technician performs hands-on maintenance and repair work while delivering professional, high-quality customer service. This role includes completing multi-trade maintenance tasks, communicating with clients on-site, and accurately documenting all work performed. The technician adheres to safety standards, jobsite protocols, and client-specific requirements while maintaining a clean and professional work environment. Field Technicians work independently and collaboratively with service coordinators, and support the Facility Service Manager as needed by walking jobs and obtaining necessary field information.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Performing Maintenance Activities for Clients
  • Must call client location in advance for all work orders.
  • Must have necessary tools when entering the job site, according to the trade and nature of the job.
  • Must have the necessary paperwork and specific instructions related to the client and work order (sign off sheet; check in and out instructions, etc.)
  • Introduce yourself with the store manager or MOD and explain the reason of the visit.
  • Smile, shake hands, and explain what they can expect (length of time, possible disruptions to their business, etc.)
  • If we leave a jobsite to buy materials, we must always leave the job area safe and secure and notify the SM or MOD.
  • Tech must call the office to request a PO number each time material is purchased for a job. When purchases are made after hours the work order number should be used instead.
  • If a job is expected to exceed the NTE approved by the office, you must call for approval to proceed before exceeding this amount.
  • Tech must always clean up before leaving jobsite.
  • Tech must speak with the store manager of MOD before leaving the premises to explain what has been done, or what is left to do, and ask if they have any questions before you leave.
  • Tech must get before and after photos of all work performed or inspected.
  • Tech must get the SM or MOD’s signature on the related paperwork.
  • Tech must call the office to information when each job has been completed.
  • Paperwork must be turned in daily, along with all necessary information and pictures of the jobs completed.

  • Work with Project Manager when necessary for clarification on jobs.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service skills.
  • Complete job tickets and mileage logs accurately and thoroughly on a daily basis.
  • Record the use of truck stock that is used on respective job tickets.
  • CGP employees will follow guidelines that will protect the interest and safety of all employees and the organization as well as ensure job site etiquette.
  • Company provided uniforms are always to be worn.
  • Proper work boots are always to be worn.
  • Employees must present themselves in a professional manner including no foul language and use of cell phones only when necessary and not in the presence of clients, in stores or while driving.
  • Being prepared when arriving on site to begin work.
  • Always inform client when the task has been completed or when leaving the job site.
  • Company vehicles must be parked in the proper location on the job site. Never park in front of clients’ main entry.
  • Work area must be clean upon departure; good housekeeping is part of the job.
  • Do not block aisles, traffic lanes, fire exists, stairs, etc.
  • Do not use tools with split, broken, or loose handles. Keep cutting tools sharp and carry all tools in the proper fashion.
  • Never do anything that is unsafe in order to get the job done.
  • Use your personal protective equipment whenever it is required.
  • Know the correct use of hand power tools. Use the right tool for the job. Inspect ladders before use and make sure they are safe before using.

Minimum Skills
  • Must have basic ceramic tile experience; remove floor or wall tile and grout.
  • Must have basic plumbing skills (e.g. replace faucets, unclog toilets, etc.)
  • Must have basic electrical skills (e.g. light bulb replacement, replace outlets, etc.)
  • Must have basic wall repair skills (e.g. cut out and patch drywall and texture)
  • When a job can’t be completed during business hours, materials are special order or the job is too big for the tech, you must contact the office immediately and explain the situation, provide a rough estimate, and get prices of the related area.
  • Troubleshooting electrical or mystery leaks.
  • Be able to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and /or installations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work as required.
  • Communication skills with dispatch/office.
  • Understand and use the different check in/check out requirements for each individual client.
  • Ability to understand NTE’s and work with Project Administrator/Service Coordinator in getting increases when necessary.
  • Wall repairs such as patching drywall and matching texture.
  • Light painting from complete wall or touch ups.
  • Must have basic knowledge and installation practices for FRP.
  • Be honest and trustworthy.
  • Be respectful.
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Be flexible.
  • Demonstrate sound work ethics.
Education & Experience
  • 3 to 5 years maintenance trade experience with a like industry such as property management, hospitality, retail, or restaurant facility services.
  • College or tech school attendance is a plus.
  • Related seminars, classes, courses, training, with “certificates of completion” are a plus.
  • Participate in relevant/appropriate training programs as requested by the company.
