Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer to monitor wafer fabrication equipment, qualify new manufacturing gear, and coordinate schedules with manufacturing. The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, process parameter monitoring, and cross-functional communication to drive yield and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in engineering or related fields, strong scripting skills (Python/VBA), and experience with Lean/5S.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (new grads need 3.0 GPA or better)
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Change Point Management experience and understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
• Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Ability to wear clean room suit and PPE and lift < 35 lbs in FAB environment

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
