Job Overview

Position Summary

Logs and tracks the receipt and shipment of all samples into and out of the laboratory, verifies sample receipt, and assists in preparing bottle kits for client delivery. Determines sample priority and appropriate testing procedures per Chain of Custody, labels and stores samples according to documented procedures, and may perform pick‑up, delivery and other customer service duties. Properly disposes of samples and waste following all applicable protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and unload incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations and verify receipt against Chain of Custody (COC). Resolve any discrepancies.
  • Log samples into the Lab Management System daily, assign lot numbers, and distribute paperwork to Project Managers.
  • Label samples and deliver them to the appropriate labs for analysis.
  • Prepare bottle kits daily for client sample collection in compliance with EPA and DOT requirements.
  • Forward samples to other laboratories as needed to run tests not performed on site.
  • Dispose of spent samples, waste, and hazardous materials per established procedures.
  • Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures daily to confirm readings are within SOP guidelines.
  • Clean and organize the department daily to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Promote safety and conduct all operations in a compliant manner.
  • Stock and supply inventory daily, maintaining proper quantities of materials.
  • Perform splits and composites as requested.
  • Perform courier duties and comply with driver procedures, certification, and company driver policies.
  • Remain on‑call during non‑business hours for non‑routine sampling and delivery.
  • Assist in maintaining walk‑in coolers and ship empty coolers back to clients.
  • Maintain all company vehicles for sample pickups and deliveries.
  • Conduct client interactions professionally and appropriately.
  • Perform other job duties as determined by local management.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Certificates and Licenses
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license for company vehicle operation.
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background check as required for company driver certification.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card; TSA clearance may be required within 90 days of hire.
Skills
  • Basic office practices and equipment usage.
  • Proficiency with computers, word processing, and database software.
  • Acknowledgment of laboratory and testing procedures.
  • Basic mathematics, composition, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of computerized shipping systems and personal protective equipment usage.
Additional Information
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely with no restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Position is full‑time. Work schedule: Tuesday – Friday 9 am – 6 pm and Saturday 9 am – 2 pm. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Pensacola, FL are encouraged to apply.

Pay rate: $16‑17 /hr (actual base salary may vary based on experience, skill set, peer salaries, business sector, and geographic location).
