Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Same Day Surgery unit at RWJ Hamilton in Hamilton, NJ. This Full-Time, Day shift role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care across preoperative, intraoperative and post-anesthesia care to support same-day discharge.

Ideal candidates hold ASN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred) with NJ RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications; 1–2 years of surgical/perioperative experience and strong communication are desired to join

Qualifications

ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN within 5 years of hire encouraged.
Previous RN experience in surgical/perioperative settings preferred.
Must have dexterity, coordination, strength, endurance for duties.

Responsibilities

Collects, assesses and documents patient healthcare data.
Directs patient, family and interdisciplinary team to plan realistic care outcomes.
Prioritizes care based on data and documents assessments in medical records.
Coordinates and directs unit activities to provide safe patient care.
Educates patient and family regarding health status and care plan.
