Job summary

Goodwill Industries Of North Louisiana is seeking Salvage Team Members to support salvage and recycling operations in the Shreveport distribution center. You will sort, palletize, stage, and prepare materials for recycling or outlet distribution, while maintaining organized zones and safe handling practices.

This full-time role involves operating pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment, loading and unloading salvage shipments, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Production, processing or warehouse experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Sort donated goods designated for salvage or recycling according to agency guidelines.
• Palletize, stage, and prepare salvage materials for recycling or shipment.
• Maintain organized warehouse zones for salvage materials, supplies, and outbound shipments.
• Rotate materials and product inventory according to operational procedures.
• Safely operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, ladders, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as assigned.
• Assist with loading and unloading salvage shipments and transportation vehicles.
• Assist with staging and movement of materials to support efficient warehouse workflow and transportation operations.
• Complete required documentation related to salvage processing and warehouse activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse work environment including removal of debris and spills.
• Use required PPE and follow safe handling procedures at all times.
• Support the flow of donated goods from receiving through salvage processing and shipment.
• Participate in safety drills, training, and meetings.
• Report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with movement of merchandise within the warehouse and outlet areas.
• Maintain regular attendance and professional appearance.

SUMMARY:

Distribution Manager/ Distribution Assistant Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sorts donated goods designated for salvage or recycling according to agency guidelines.
• Palletizes, stages, and prepares salvage materials for recycling or shipment.
• Maintains organized warehouse zones for salvage materials, supplies, and outbound shipments.
• Rotates materials and product inventory according to operational procedures.
• Safely operates warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, ladders, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as assigned.
• Assists with loading and unloading salvage shipments and transportation vehicles.
• Assists with staging and movement of materials to support efficient warehouse workflow and transportation operations.
• Completes required documentation related to salvage processing and warehouse activities.
• Maintains a clean and safe warehouse work environment including removal of debris and spills.
• Uses required personal protective equipment and follows safe material handling procedures at all times.
• Supports the efficient flow of donated goods from receiving through salvage processing and shipment.
• Participates in required safety drills, training sessions, and operational meetings.
• Reports equipment issues, safety concerns, or operational problems to the Salvage Lead promptly.
• Assists internal staff with movement of merchandise and materials within the warehouse and outlet areas when needed.
• Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, follow safety procedures, maintain a professional appearance, and comply with all agency policies and procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned to support warehouse and distribution operations.

• Stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse environment

• Push and pull carts, pallets, and containers
• Operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment

Employees may be exposed to:

• Moving mechanical parts and powered industrial equipment
• Dust, airborne particles, and recycled materials
• Moderate to loud noise levels
• Varying indoor temperatures and occasional outdoor conditions

The primary work environment is:

• An open warehouse or distribution center with active material handling and equipment use

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
