Job summary

BDO USA, PC is seeking a Tax Intern in State and Local Tax who will perform basic research and analysis of SALT issues, assist in preparing returns and tax filings, and learn from experienced professionals through coaching and hands-on experience.

You will gain hands-on experience with tax software, collaborate with tax teams, and develop skills in tax research, compliance, and consulting within a dynamic, client-facing environment at BDO in Akron, OH.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in accounting, taxation, finance or related field; JD/LLM acceptable.
• Experience or interest in state and local tax (SALT) is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports basic SALT research and analysis.
• Assists in preparing and filing tax returns and related documents.
• Gains hands-on experience with tax software under supervision.
• Participates in client meetings and internal reviews as appropriate.
• Maintains organized workpapers and tracks deadlines.
