Salt City Trucking in the Northeast is seeking a CDL-A Local Grocery Driver to deliver fresh and frozen groceries with daily home time. Earn about $100,000 average annual gross pay, plus a $5,000 bonus, on a consistent 5-day schedule with 12-14 hour shifts and 6th day as needed.

Routes include NYC boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey, with roughly 1,381 miles per week and 20-25 stops. Uniforms provided; hotel stays for layovers when required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable truck driving experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Valid DOT Medical Card.
• Preferred: 3 months of NYC borough deliveries.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Strong customer service skills.
• No SAP drivers.
• Riders not permitted.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using reefer trailers.
• Routes include NYC boroughs, Long Island, and New Jersey.
• Daily NYC deliveries expected.
• Approximately 20-25 stops per week.
• Typically one long load per day, with an additional load when hours permit.
• Occasional returns and backhauls.
• Approximately 1,381 miles per week.
• Driver unloads 1-3 pallets per stop using an electric/manual pallet jack and liftgate.
• Curbside deliveries are common in NYC; NJ deliveries are primarily dock-based.
• Support other local accounts as needed.

Shift Details

• Home daily
• 5-day workweek with a 6th day as needed
• Start times between 12:01 AM-1:30 AM
• Off Sunday plus one weekday; weekday off will not be Monday or Saturday
• Split days off
• 12-14 hour shifts
• 6th days required during certain holiday periods
• Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's work are not guaranteed

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable truck driving experience
• Clean driving record
• Valid DOT Medical Card
• Preferred: At least 3 months of experience delivering in all NYC boroughs
• Reliable personal transportation to and from work
• Strong customer service skills
• No SAP drivers
• Riders not permitted

Equipment & Training

• 46', 48', 51', or 53' reefer trailers
• Automatic day cabs
• Slip-seat operation
• Trucks remain at the account and cannot be taken home
