Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Grocery Driver for a dedicated grocery account with consistent home daily time and NYC-area deliveries. This role offers strong earning potential, including a $10,000 bonus and a predictable schedule.

You will haul refrigerated groceries using 46–53 ft trailers, primarily in NYC boroughs and Long Island, starting from West Haven and building urgent, multi-stop routes. Safety and customer service are priorities.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Minimum 3 months truck driving experience is required.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• Ability to start early morning shifts and complete NYC deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 46', 48', 51' or 53' reefer trailers.
• Deliver primarily throughout NYC boroughs and Long Island, plus NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA and parts of upstate NY.
• Multi-stop loads averaging 15–20 stops per week.
• Start from the West Haven yard and coordinate pickups at the distribution facility.
• Backhauls to the distribution center as needed.
• Maintain safe driving and on-time performance.

CDL-A Local Grocery Driver – Good Pay + $10K Bonus | Home Daily

Join a dedicated grocery account offering daily home time, strong earning potential, and a $10,000 bonus. This position features consistent early starts and frequent NYC-area deliveries.

Pay Details

• Average Annual Pay: $100,000–$110,000
• Average Weekly Pay: $2,000–$2,150
• $10,000 Bonus
• $50/day daily rate when all 5 scheduled days are worked
• $42 NYC Borough Stop Pay — Queens, Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island & Brooklyn
• $45 Liftgate Stop Pay
• Detention paid in 15-minute increments when eligible
• $20/hour classroom safety training
• Approximately 1,500 miles per week

Job Details

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 46', 48', 51' or 53' reefer trailers
• Deliver primarily throughout NYC boroughs and Long Island, plus NJ, MA, VT, RI, NH, ME, PA and parts of upstate NY
• NYC borough deliveries expected daily
• Multi-stop loads averaging 15–20 stops per week
• Typically one long load per day, with an occasional shorter load if hours permit
• Pick up return product and backhauls to the distribution center as needed
• Start at the West Haven yard and travel to the supporting distribution facility for scheduled pickups
• Electric pallet jack training provided for store unloading
• Support other local accounts as needed
• Strong customer service skills required

Shift Details

• Home Daily
• Sunday–Thursday
• Sunday and one weekday off; Monday will not be an off day
• Approximate start time: 1:30 AM–4:00 AM
• 12–14 hour shifts
• 6 days mandatory during holiday peak periods
• Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's: off during the holiday day but may work the holiday night when scheduled

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
• Personal transportation to and from work daily
• Clean driving record
• DOT Medical Card
• No SAP Drivers
• Ability to work early morning starts and frequent NYC deliveries
