Job summary

Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission seeks five temporary Fisheries Technician 1 positions to support salmon and steelhead monitoring along the Mendocino County coast. Qualifications

• Six months of general experience or one year of education with at least six science/technical courses; equivalent combination acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in fishery surveys and trap/weir and redd/escapement surveys.
• Make standardized observations including species, length, weight, behavior, and tags.
• Collect and organize biological/habitat samples and enter data.
• Inspect equipment, document findings, and respond to emergencies.
• Summarize data and assist with reports or database tasks.
