Description

Automotive Sales Consultant – One-Person, One-Price Sales Process

Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield | Fairfield, CA

Position Overview

Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield is looking for an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Automotive Sales Consultant to join our team.

We operate under a One-Person, One-Price Sales Process, meaning our Sales Consultants take ownership of the entire customer experience, from the initial inquiry through vehicle delivery and post-sale follow-up.

Our One-Price philosophy is built around transparency, honesty, and providing customers with a straightforward buying experience. We present our best available pricing upfront, eliminating traditional back-and-forth negotiations and allowing our customers to make informed purchasing decisions with confidence.

We are specifically seeking candidates with current automotive retail sales experience who understand today's dealership environment, are comfortable working with CRM systems, and can confidently manage the entire sales process.

This approach empowers our Sales Consultants to build meaningful relationships, focus on customer needs, and take responsibility for delivering an exceptional experience at every stage of the process.

The ideal candidate is professional, self-motivated, organized, and driven to achieve sales goals while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Prospecting
  • Respond promptly to incoming internet, phone, and walk-in customer inquiries.
  • Proactively prospect for new business through phone calls, emails, text messages, referrals, and follow-up activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the ownership experience.
  • Identify customer needs, preferences, budget, and vehicle requirements.
  • Deliver a professional, welcoming, and premium customer experience consistent with the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Sales Process & Vehicle Presentation

  • Conduct professional vehicle presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Perform vehicle walkarounds and demonstrate vehicle features, technology, and benefits.
  • Conduct test drives and effectively communicate vehicle value.
  • Present new and pre-owned vehicle options, including available incentives, programs, and financing or leasing options.
  • Appraise customer trade-in vehicles and coordinate valuations with management.
  • Present our One-Price philosophy by confidently communicating transparent, upfront pricing.
  • Educate customers on vehicle pricing, available incentives, and applicable programs without relying on traditional negotiation tactics.
  • Work collaboratively with management when additional pricing considerations or approvals are necessary.
One-Person, One-Price Sales Philosophy
  • Embrace and consistently represent our One-Person, One-Price sales model.
  • Take ownership of the entire customer relationship without transferring customers between multiple salespeople.
  • Present our best available pricing upfront, creating a transparent and straightforward purchasing experience.
  • Build customer confidence through honesty, integrity, and a consultative sales approach.
  • Focus on educating customers, demonstrating value, and helping them make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain pricing integrity while working within dealership guidelines and management-approved pricing.
  • Prioritize the customer experience over traditional high-pressure sales tactics.

  • Take ownership of the sales transaction and coordinate all necessary steps to complete the purchase or lease.
  • Accurately document customer information, vehicle selections, trade details, and deal terms in the dealership CRM and sales systems.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department to complete required paperwork and financing arrangements.

  • Follow up with customers throughout the buying process and after delivery.
  • Maintain consistent communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Request customer reviews and referrals.
  • Develop long-term relationships to generate repeat and referral business.
  • Maintain an active and organized customer pipeline.
Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple customers and transactions independently.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work a dealership schedule, including evenings and weekends.
What We Are Looking For
  • A customer‑first mindset with a genuine commitment to delivering an exceptional buying experience.
  • Someone who takes ownership and accountability rather than relying on multiple handoffs.
  • A self‑starter who understands that consistent prospecting and follow‑up drive success.
  • Someone who believes in transparency, integrity, and the value of a One‑Price sales approach.
  • An experienced automotive professional who understands the importance of product knowledge, customer engagement, and building a strong pipeline.
