Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead end-to-end architectures from conception through production. You will partner with business and technology experts to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions and align IT strategy with business goals.

This onsite role in the Birmingham/Hoover area will oversee architecture delivery and drive risk-aware, compliant designs. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 10 years of enterprise

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end enterprise architectures from conception through delivery into production.
• Partner with business and technology subject‑matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions.
• Lead the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects.
• Design both the physical and logical components of solution architectures that deliver a positive business outcome.
• Collaborate with other domain architects to provide consensus‑based scalable and adaptable architectural solutions.
• Oversee technical analysis and design capabilities.
• Facilitate technology design workshops for emerging technologies.
• Validate designs produced by third‑party vendors seeking to sell solutions to the organization.
• Align IT strategy and planning with the company’s business goals and objectives.
• Promote the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flow.
• Collaborate on roadmaps to align IT priorities with business partner requirements and strategies.
• Build and maintain technical trusted advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers within Technology.
• Work with developers to ensure that technical solutions align with overall IT architecture frameworks and design guidelines.
• Work with Portfolio technology leaders to include technical debt initiatives in portfolio roadmaps.
• Oversee data integration and configuration.
• Provide consultation on the most complex projects.
• Lead the work of others.
• Partner across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk.
• Practice disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts when designing or implementing changes to processes, systems, products, and/or services and ensuring appropriate updates to procedures, training, and controls are made accordingly.

This position is exempt from time‑keeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. It is incentive eligible.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and ten (10) years of enterprise, solutions, and/or technical architecture experience.
• Experience with N‑tier architectures and complex design architectures.
• Experience with technical, application, and information architecture delivery techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with Agile methods.

Required Certifications / Licenses

• Certifications in the technology domain of the enterprise.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance.
• Understanding of and ability to use design patterns to steer business requirements into enterprise‑wide technical strategies.
• Awareness and ability to document designs using internal and external notation standards (BPMN, UML).
• Hands‑on knowledge of one or more popular programming languages such as Java, Go, C#, Rust, Python.
• Knowledge of security design techniques.
• Understanding of the organization’s technology stack (Middleware, .NET, J2EE, Oracle, etc.).
• Working knowledge of modern operating systems (Linux/Windows), networking, servers, mainframe, secure coding practices, development environments (.NET/Java), databases (DB2/Oracle/SQL Server).

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, defining how Salesforce should be optimally designed and used across the enterprise.
• Establish enterprise‑wide Salesforce architecture standards, patterns, and guardrails to ensure scalable, secure, and governed implementations.
• Translate business strategy into a Salesforce capability roadmap, aligning platform usage to customer experience, growth, and digital transformation goals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, guiding decisions on when and how to leverage Salesforce versus other platforms.
• Proven experience serving as an Enterprise Architect within a financial services organization, driving enterprise technology strategy and architecture decisions.
• Demonstrated success leading or supporting Salesforce implementations in financial services environments.

Location and Work Arrangements

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in‑office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. The locations available for this role are Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; or Charlotte, NC.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job‑specific and are provided as a point‑of‑market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors that directly impact pay for individual associates include experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and performance in the job role. Pay will vary among associates within the same job.

Minimum target: $170,048.45 USD

Median target: $209,120.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans: This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan and may participate in the Long‑Term Incentive Plan.
