The role of a Salesforce Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems at Canonical

This engineering management role offers an opportunity for a technologist passionate about Linux and Ubuntu to build a career with Canonical and drive business success. If you have an affinity for open source development, you will enjoy working with some of the best in the industry at Canonical.

The Commercial Systems unit oversees several areas across six engineering teams, collaborating closely with other engineering and business teams. Services designed, developed, and operated by this unit are central to Canonical's business, with Salesforce playing an integral role.

We seek an engineering manager with senior Salesforce experience who strives for high engineering quality, seeks continuous improvement, and applies their skills effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to lead change, leverage the latest Salesforce features and best practices, and maintain a lean and maintainable Salesforce instance.

Location: This role is remote within the EMEA region.

What your day will look like

1. Lead a team of engineers delivering solutions on the Salesforce platform
2. Seek improvements to processes, designs, and solutions
3. Collaborate on business analysis and technical designs
4. Provide Salesforce expertise to business customers and cross-functional teams
5. Deliver engineering solutions leveraging the Salesforce platform

What we are looking for in you

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
2. Experience with Salesforce development and integrations
3. Experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead
4. Excellent communication skills in English
5. Ability to work remotely with diverse teams, remaining motivated, productive, and organized
6. Willingness to travel internationally 2-4 times per year for about a week each, to locations like New York, London, Cape Town, etc.

Additional skills that you might also bring

1. Experience as a software developer in high-level languages like Go or Python
2. Experience in sales, finance, or operations roles
