We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Developer to join a federal delivery team building and enhancing a Salesforce platform that supports a U.S. government agency. You will design and build custom solutions on the Salesforce platform, integrate it with agency systems, and deliver secure, accessible functionality in a regulated environment. This is a hands‑on development role on an Agile team that works closely with architects, business analysts, testers, and government stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, test, and deploy custom functionality using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and SOQL/SOSL.
- Build and maintain declarative automation with Flows, validation rules, and approval processes, and decide when code is the better choice.
- Develop and support integrations with agency and third‑party systems using REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and middleware such as MuleSoft.
- Apply the Salesforce security model (profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, field‑level security) to protect sensitive government data.
- Build features that meet Section 508 accessibility standards and federal security requirements in a Government Cloud environment.
- Write unit tests that meet code coverage and quality standards, take part in code reviews, and follow secure coding practices.
- Work within a DevOps pipeline (Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce DX with Git) across multiple sandboxes and release cycles.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives in an Agile or SAFe framework.
- Produce technical documentation, including design notes, deployment steps, and release documentation for government review.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support during releases and hypercare.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency, as required by the client's federal contract.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust background investigation.
- 5+ years of hands‑on Salesforce development experience.
- Strong experience with Apex (triggers, classes, batch and queueable jobs), Lightning Web Components, and SOQL.
- Experience building and supporting Salesforce integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce security, sharing, and data access controls.
- Experience with source control (Git) and a Salesforce CI/CD toolset.
- Experience working on Agile delivery teams using Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical work to non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience on federal government programs.
- Experience with Salesforce Government Cloud or Government Cloud Plus and FedRAMP-authorized environments.
- Experience with Experience Cloud portals, OmniStudio, or Salesforce Public Sector Solutions.
- Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility testing and NIST 800‑53 security controls.
- Experience with MuleSoft or another enterprise integration platform.
- Active Public Trust or higher clearance.
- Fully remote within the United States. Candidates must be available during core Eastern Time business hours.
- Contract offered on a W2 or 1099 basis. Corp-to-Corp submissions will not be considered.
- Selected candidates must complete the client's background investigation and onboarding requirements before start.
