Job description

This is a full-time, direct hire position that will be onsite 5 days per week in St. Charles, IL. Candidates must currently reside in the local area.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Salesforce Developer / Administrator to join their internal technology team. This is a hands‑on role that combines Salesforce development with platform administration and ongoing business support. The ideal candidate enjoys building solutions, improving business processes, and serving as the primary technical resource for an evolving Salesforce environment. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of day‑to‑day Salesforce development while partnering closely with business stakeholders and an external Salesforce consulting team responsible for architecture and larger‑scale initiatives. You'll play a key role in enhancing the platform, supporting users, and ensuring Salesforce continues to meet the organization’s operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Salesforce enhancements using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and other platform capabilities.
  • Configure and maintain Salesforce using declarative tools including Flows, validation rules, page layouts, reports, dashboards, and custom objects.
  • Support ongoing platform enhancements, bug fixes, user requests, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Serve as the primary internal resource for day‑to‑day Salesforce development and administration.
  • Partner with an external Salesforce consulting team on larger projects, integrations, and architectural initiatives.
  • Assist with Salesforce integrations, data imports/exports, and API‑based solutions as needed.
  • Maintain system documentation, participate in code reviews, and follow development best practices and version control processes.
  • Help ensure data quality, platform stability, security, and long‑term scalability.
  • Troubleshoot Salesforce issues and provide technical support to internal users.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience developing within the Salesforce platform using Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Experience building and maintaining Salesforce Flows and other declarative automation.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce configuration, including page layouts, validation rules, profiles, permissions, and reports.
  • Understanding of SOQL and object‑oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues and supporting Salesforce users.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce Administrator experience or certification.
  • Experience with Salesforce integrations, REST APIs, or external systems.
  • Understanding of when to leverage declarative solutions versus custom development.
  • Experience using Git or other version control tools.
  • Experience supporting operational or workflow‑driven business environments such as logistics, transportation, field services, manufacturing, or similar industries.
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is more than a Salesforce developer; it’s someone who takes ownership of the platform and enjoys partnering with the business to solve problems. This person should be comfortable balancing development work with platform administration, prioritizing requests based on business impact, and continuously improving Salesforce to support organizational goals. Success in this role comes from being proactive, collaborative, and capable of managing day‑to‑day Salesforce responsibilities while working alongside internal stakeholders and external technical partners.
