Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. seeks a Salesforce Developer II to design world-class Salesforce applications and deliver scalable analytics using Tableau.

You will work with Business Analysts and Administrators to translate requirements into solutions that support key business decisions. The role requires 4+ years of Salesforce development, experience with Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce, and Tableau dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering preferred.
  • 4+ years of Salesforce development experience.
  • Experience writing Apex classes and triggers.
  • Experience developing dashboards with Tableau.
  • Strong communication and data presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into Salesforce solutions.
  • Design, code, and implement Salesforce applications.
  • Develop Apex classes/triggers, Lightning Components, and Visualforce pages.
  • Assist with release planning and deployments.
  • Build integrations from Salesforce to internal and third‑party systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and dashboards across teams.

Salesforce Developer II

The Salesforce Developer II will design world-class Salesforce applications for our evolving CRM requirements. The Salesforce Developer II position will be responsible for developing code-based solutions within Salesforce platform and will work closely with our Business Analysts and Salesforce Administrators to develop solutions that support business requirements and drive key business decisions. Additionally, the ideal candidate will also possess the skills necessary to deliver scalable, high-performance visual analytics using Tableau and Salesforce data.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Analyze business requirements, translating those requirements into customized solutions using the Salesforce platform
  • Designing, coding, and implementing Salesforce applications
  • Develop Apex (classes and triggers), Lightning Components, and Visualforce extending Salesforce capabilities to support our business requirements
  • With project leadership, assist in the estimation of work effort and set a realistic schedule for development
  • Assist with each release cycle to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code
  • Develop integrations from Salesforce to internal proprietary and third-party services
  • Testing the stability and functionality of the application
  • Troubleshooting and fixing bugs
  • Maintaining the security and integrity of the application software
  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
  • Support Tableau Server/Cloud deployments, publishing, scheduling, and refreshes
Job Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering preferred
  • Platform Developer II Certification (preferred)
  • Required Experience: 4+ years of Salesforce development experience
  • Experience developing customer-facing interfaces
  • Experience writing Apex classes and triggers
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Understanding of and experience with Salesforce architecture and API
  • Experience using GitHub or other version control software
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with other applications
  • 2+ years of experience developing dashboards using Tableau
  • Experience working with Salesforce data and objects
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and data analysis
  • Experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server/Cloud
Compensation and Working Conditions

Compensation Range: The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and state/local wage requirements $109,098 - $ 136,372
