Job summary

i4DM is seeking an experienced Salesforce Data Quality Engineer to lead data migration and quality efforts for a Department of Veterans Affairs modernization project. You’ll analyze legacy data in SQL Server, create mappings, and oversee ETL and validation processes to ensure accurate migration into Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or engineering.
  • 5+ years in data quality, data migration, data engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with Salesforce implementations, SQL Server, ETL, source‑to‑target mapping, data profiling, and reconciliation.
  • Strong SQL and analytical skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination.
  • Experience with Salesforce or CRM data migrations.
  • Understanding of ETL processes, data mapping, transformation rules, and data validation techniques.
  • Experience using Salesforce migration tools (Data Loader, Import Wizard).
  • Experience tracking defects using Jira and working in Agile environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements.
  • Design and execute data migration strategies from GCLAWS to Salesforce.
  • Profile legacy GCLAWS data residing in SQL Server databases.
  • Develop and maintain source‑to‑target mappings and transformation rules.
  • Perform ETL activities and support data loading using Salesforce migration tools.
  • Conduct data quality assessments, reconciliation, validation, and automated monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce architects, developers, and stakeholders to improve data migration and quality processes.
  • Create and execute migration test plans and document defects and resolutions.
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, cases, and scripts for Salesforce apps (manual, API, performance, regression).
  • Identify, document, and track defects using Jira.
  • Serve as SME for data migration and data quality expertise.
  • Provide status updates on migration progress, quality, and risks to team and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to QA strategy and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Stay updated on Salesforce best practices and new features.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Data Quality Engineer to support the modernization of an accreditation and fee processing program at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role will lead data migration and quality activities for the new Salesforce platform replacing accreditation management functions currently housed within the legacy system. The engineer will analyze legacy SQL Server data, develop source‑to‑target mappings, execute data extraction, transformation, and loading activities, perform data validation and reconciliation, and implement data quality controls. By joining our organization, you will help improve services provided to Veterans and accredited representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute data migration strategies from GCLAWS to Salesforce.
  • Analyze and profile legacy GCLAWS data residing in SQL Server databases.
  • Develop and maintain source‑to‑target mapping documents and transformation rules.
  • Perform ETL activities and support data loading using Salesforce migration tools.
  • Conduct data quality assessments, reconciliation, validation testing, and automated monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce architects, developers, business stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to improve data migration and data quality processes.
  • Create and execute migration test plans and document defects and resolutions.
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Salesforce applications, including manual, automated, API, performance, and regression tests.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Serve as subject matter specialist providing data migration and data quality expertise.
  • Provide regular status updates on data migration progress, issues, data quality, and risks to your team and project stakeholders as necessary.
  • Contribute to the overall quality assurance strategy and participate in team meetings and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
  • Stay updated on Salesforce best practices, new features, and industry trends.
