Job summary

The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a senior Salesforce developer or architect to help build systems that support mobility and improve Texans' quality of life. You will lead internal and vendor teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and translate complex technical concepts into plain Texan speech.

The right candidate will have hands-on coding and strong communication skills. We offer a hybrid work schedule and a campus designed to foster creativity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; related substitutions allowed year-for-year.
  • 4 years of systems analysis or related experience required; graduate education may substitute.
  • Valid driver's license; state vehicle driving requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate IT/IS architecture development, policies, standards, and roles.
  • Lead projects and systems involving software development life cycle.
  • Evaluate methods and tools to improve Salesforce-based services and integrations.
  • Design architecture models for Salesforce solutions and service integrations.
  • Develop and configure Salesforce components (Apex, LWC, flows, APIs, deployments).
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure high quality and proper design patterns.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and customers to meet business requirements.

Essential Duties
  • Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of IT/IS architecture, processes, policies, standards, procedures and associated roles and responsibilities.
  • Manages one or more projects and systems involving software development and life cycle.
  • Oversees the evaluation of methods, tools, hardware and software used to improve the analysis, development, integration, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
  • Serves as subject matter expert.
  • Develop solutions, proof of concepts and optimizations of Salesforce platform
  • Design and provide solution recommendations and roadmaps for service modernizations using Salesforce Platform, both out-of-box capabilities and customized solutions
  • Develop architecture models depicting Salesforce solutions, along with service integrations, for service modernizations
  • Design and implement security and permission models, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and Configure Salesforce components: Lightening web components, Apex, Apex triggers, Apex web services, Apex flows, Apex APIs, app exchange and deployments.
  • Conduct code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure that code quality is at the highest level possible and appropriate design patterns are being used for Salesforce platform.
  • Coordinate closely with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and directly with customers to architect Salesforce solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Coordinates and/or tests and diagnoses systems to ensure critical requirements are met, to include but not limited to system interfaces.
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes technical problems associated with local applications.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Work Experience

4 years of experience in systems analysis, application systems support, or related work experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent) Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

License and Certification

Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
  • Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
  • Talking-expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken words
  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
