Job summary

North South Consulting Group is seeking a Salesforce Architect to lead technical design of Salesforce solutions for DoD customers. You will own the overall architecture, data/security models, automation, and integrations in a secure cloud environment, guiding development teams and advising stakeholders. Candidates must be a US citizen.

Role offers 100% remote work with location flexibility in the US. 8+ years in IT and 5+ years on Salesforce are expected, along with DoD/ Government Cloud

Qualifications

• 8+ years IT experience with 5+ years on Salesforce
• Designing complex data models and security
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, CDC
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD in Salesforce environments
• Knowledge of RMF, ATO, NIST SP 800-53, CUI handling
• Public Sector / Government Cloud experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Salesforce architecture for the program
• Translate requirements into scalable data, security, and automation designs
• Design security and sharing models to protect CUI
• Define integration strategy with MuleSoft and APIs
• Set development standards, sandbox strategy, and CI/CD processes
• Lead design and code reviews and mentor engineers
• Produce architecture docs to support ATO and RMF packages
• Assess Salesforce releases for impact and risks
• Advise leadership on limits, licensing, and options

Job description

| Position: | SALESFORCE ARCHITECT | | Location: | ELIZABETHTOWN, KY or REMOTE (US ONLY) | | Salary: | $130-150k |

We are hiring a Salesforce Architect to lead the technical design of the Salesforce solutions we deliver to Department of Defense (DoD) customers. You will own the overall architecture, which covers the data model, security model, automation, and integrations, in a secure DoD cloud environment. You will guide the development team and advise government stakeholders on technical trade-offs.

Candidates must be a US Citizen to meet contractual and job requirements.

This role is 100% remote.

DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

• Own the end-to-end solution architecture for the program’s Salesforce environment
• Translate mission and business requirements into scalable designs for the data model, security model, automation, and user experience
• Design the security and sharing model to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) using profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, Shield Platform Encryption, and Event Monitoring
• Define the integration strategy with the MuleSoft Integration Architect, including APIs, events, and data synchronization
• Set development standards, the sandbox and environment strategy, and the release management and CI/CD process
• Lead design reviews and code reviews, and mentor senior and junior developers
• Produce architecture documentation, including system diagrams and data flows, to support Authority to Operate (ATO) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages
• Assess each Salesforce release for impact, risk, and new capabilities
• Advise program leadership and government stakeholders on platform limits, licensing, and technical options

EXPERIENCE

Required

• 8+ years in IT, including 5+ years on the Salesforce platform and 2+ years as an architect or technical lead
• Designing complex data models and security and sharing models
• Strong working knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flow
• Integration patterns, including REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and Change Data Capture
• Large data volumes, governor limits, and performance tuning
• Salesforce DevOps and CI/CD (e.g., Salesforce DX, DevOps Center, Copado, or Gearset) Nice to Have
• Experience with Salesforce Government Cloud Plus or Government Cloud Plus – Defense (IL4/IL5)
• Experience with DoD or other federal programs
• Familiarity with RMF, ATO packages, NIST SP 800-53, and CUI handling
• Salesforce Shield (Platform Encryption, Event Monitoring, Field Audit Trail)
• Public Sector Solutions or Experience Cloud
• MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
• Agile or SAFe delivery

EDUCATION

Required

• Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect
• CompTIA Security+ or another DoD 8140-qualifying certification (or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire)

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
