Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Conservation & Environment IT Delivery Center in Harrisburg is seeking a Senior Applications Developer and Salesforce lead to administer and extend the Salesforce platform, ensure security and stability, and drive internal expertise. You will design data models, build reports, and guide integration efforts while coordinating cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4 or equivalent.
• Five years IT experience with three years in apps development/maintenance.
• Three years IT experience in apps development/maintenance with an associate degree.
• One year IT experience in apps development/maintenance with a bachelor’s degree.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

The Conservation & Environment IT Delivery Center (CEDC) is seeking a Senior Applications Developer to serve as a team lead in our Harrisburg Office. This role supports advanced administration, development, and growth of the Salesforce platform within the Conservation & Environment IT Delivery Center. The position ensures security, stability, and alignment with agency goals while helping build internal expertise. As a Salesforce Administrator, you will perform the following duties:

• Platform Administration: Manage user access, profiles, permission sets, and security controls to maintain data integrity and policy compliance
• Data Modeling: Design complex data structures and automation tools that support evolving business needs
• Reporting Development: Create and maintain reports and dashboards that provide useful operational and executive insights
• Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot advanced platform problems and coordinate solutions to maintain reliable operations
• Custom Development: Build and deploy Salesforce components to meet complex agency requirements
• Integration Support: Develop and manage secure and sustainable connections with internal and external systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years of information technology experience that includes three years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
• Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
• One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• This particular position also requires one or more years of full-time professional information technology experience developing custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce (where applicable) and Flow.
• This particular position also requires one or more years of full-time professional information technology experience implementing Salesforce security, including profiles, permission sets, role hierarchy, sharing rules, field-level security, and object-level security.
