Brady Martz is seeking a Sales Tax Manager to lead our Sales Tax team, overseeing client engagements and multi-state filings. The role focuses on improving tax workflows, mentoring staff, and coordinating with other departments to grow service lines.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in public accounting, advanced knowledge of setting up sales tax in general ledger systems, and experience with Avalara or QuickBooks Online.

Qualifications

• Experience leading sales tax teams preferred in public accounting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to train and mentor staff in SBS area.
• Experience with multi-state sales tax filings and audits.
• Proficiency with sales tax software like Avalara or QB Online.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Sales Tax team and projects, including capacity planning and scheduling.
• Consult with clients on sales tax filings, setup, pricing, and engagements.
• Develop and improve Sales Tax workflows and standard operating procedures.
• Respond to client or team questions and delegate when appropriate.
• Resolve agency discrepancies and notices and maintain client accounts in Avalara.
• Collaborate with other teams (New Business, Onboarding, Payroll) to support engagements.
• Provide training and career development discussions with team members.
• Partner with leadership on service line growth, pricing, staffing, and profitability.
