Job summary

Crawford Electric Supply in Houston, TX seeks a Sales Support-Projects to help manage administrative and logistical tasks for our project management team. You’ll coordinate planning, ordering, shipping, and billing to ensure on-time delivery of electrical materials to contractors and customers.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in EPC and large CAPEX project support.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical products and distribution channels.
  • Able to multi-task within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proactive, dependable, and solutions-oriented, with a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering exceptional results.
  • Knowledge of procurement and logistics processes.
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat and CRM platforms proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Project Management department.
  • Assist with planning, execution, and monitoring to keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Prepare documentation, material coordination, and support to PM staff.
  • Support Branch sales strategy with timely responses to customers.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliable delivery.
  • Ensure products are ordered and billed accurately.
  • Assist with overages, short shipped and damaged materials to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Expedite materials to meet agreed timeframes.
  • Communicate scheduling and shipping date changes with customers and sales staff.
  • Assist with change orders and billing through project closure.
  • Request submittals, O&M manuals and maintain project documentation.
  • Close out billing at project completion.
  • Prepare and manage order documentation (mill test reports, packing slips).
  • Maintain filing systems per customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor order status from initiation to fulfillment; coordinate with suppliers and freight.
  • Troubleshoot delays and record all orders and communications.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships for timely delivery.
  • Prepare regular reports on order status and delivery times.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Project Management department.
  • Assist with various aspects of project management, such as planning, execution, and monitoring, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ability to provide documentation, material coordination, and support to Project Management staff during projects.
  • Support the overall Branch sales strategy through efficient and timely responses to internal and external customers.
  • Establish and maintain superior customer and vendor relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure products are ordered and billed accurately.
  • Assist with overages, short shipped and damaged materials as they are reported to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Perform appropriate expediting functions to ensure materials are shipped and received by the customer in the agreed-upon time frames.
  • Ability to communicate scheduling and shipping date changes with customers and sales staff.
  • Assist with processing change orders and maintaining billing as requested until projects are closed out.
  • Assist with requesting submittals, O&M manuals and maintaining project documentation.
  • Assist with closing out billing at project completion.
  • Accurately prepare, review, and manage order documentation, including mill test reports, packing slips, and shipping and receiving documents
  • Maintain well-organized digital and physical filing systems, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards
  • Monitor and track order status from initiation through fulfillment, communicating proactively with suppliers, freight companies, and internal team members
  • Troubleshoot delays and work cross-functionally to resolve issues quickly, maintaining accurate records of all orders, shipments, and communications
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials
  • Prepare regular reports on order status, delivery times, and issues encountered for management review
Preferred Skills
  • A college degree and/or equivalent industry experience is requested.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in EPC and large CAPEX project support.
