Division: Nucor Rebar Fabrication South Central. Location: Slidell, LA, United States.
Job Summary
Manage the detailing services and post‑sale functions so that work assigned to the location is properly detailed and coordinated with customers. Coordinate outside detailing requirements and contracts with vendors. Supervise and train new detailers. Supervise detailers and ensure performance standards are being met. Ensure that the work environment is safe and encourages productivity and a quality end product.

Responsibilities
- Adhere to Nucor’s safety programs and standards.
- Demonstrate leadership consistent with Nucor’s vision and values.
- Lead post‑sale functions across the division, including detailing and project management—from order to cash.
- Control financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and maintain good relationships with customers.
- Oversee efforts to ensure Nucor Rebar Fabrication fulfills contractual obligations on the assigned projects.
- Work closely with all departments, actively support, and drive commercial strategy of creating value and getting paid through customer partnerships, differentiated products and solutions, profitable outcomes for customers, and high‑level project management.
- Lead, develop, and execute business strategies including safety, quality, cost, productivity, profitability, and commercial excellence.
- Produce monthly forecasting reports to assess progress toward post‑sales targets and budgets.
- Set objectives, provide coaching, and monitor performance of the post‑sale team.
- Assign all detailing work for the location to an appropriate detailer for efficiency and meeting customers’ delivery needs.
- Oversee productivity and work quality of detailers to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality of presentation.
- Manage the assignment of detailing to outside vendors to ensure high‑quality purchased detailing at fair rates.
- Manage contacts between detailers and customers’ offices or job sites so accurate delivery information is available and problems can be resolved or avoided.
- Review all change orders to contracts being detailed in‑house or by outside vendors for profitability, ensure customers are properly advised of and invoiced in accordance with contractual requirements, and obtain approval.
- Review all customer back‑charges on contracts detailed in‑house or by outside vendors; coordinate with sales personnel to negotiate fair settlements and prevent recurrence.
- Review and approve all post‑sale vendor invoices as required.
- Manage performance appraisal and recommend salary adjustments for all detailing personnel.
- Provide consulting services to other Nucor Rebar Fabrication locations as appropriate.
- Recruit, hire, orient, and train new detailer employees and support personnel.
- Stay apprised of technological developments in detailing methodology and equipment and recommend changes to management.
- Produce reports as requested by management.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of CRSI and the Manual of Standard Practice.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Branch Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college, or equivalent.
- At least ten years of experience as a rebar detailer or equivalent industry experience with at least six years with the Nucor detailing system (Rebar CAD) or other CAD‑based detailing system.
- At least three years of experience supervising detailers.
- Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes.
- Effective skills in communication, motivation, performance evaluation, and customer service.
- Basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices, and human relations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two‑year technical degree from an accredited school or college.

- Work schedule may include hours beyond the normal business day.
- Travel required, including overnight stays as needed.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel situations and certain customer and management information.
