Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Sales Outfitter - Firearms to maintain counter sales and customer service for firearms and hunting merchandise. You will greet customers, explain products, and help them make informed buying decisions while ensuring compliance with 4473 forms.

The role requires 0–2 years in retail, a High School Diploma, and being 21+. You will stay current on product knowledge, assist with merchandising, and support store policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of experience in retail.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of ATF Federal and State Regulations.
• Customer service and sales of firearms and ammunition.
• GCA (Gun Control Act) knowledge.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Maintain counter sales and customer service for firearms and hunting merchandise.
• Greet and assist customers, helping them make buying decisions.
• Identify customer needs and make product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC and in-store pickup.
• Ensure 4473 forms are completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise at gun counter.
• Replenish product on shelves per merchandising guidelines.
• Remain product expert through training and knowledge updates.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms is responsible for maintaining Counter Sales and Customer Service for Firearms along with Floor and Counter Sales of other Hunting Merchandise. They perform various selling/customer service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers in a prompt and friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, providing information, assistance and direction to customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
• Provides a legendary experience for every customer, every time by assisting customers in making buying decisions by: Identifying and evaluating customers' needs, Making product recommendations based off of this analysis, Promoting programs including, but not limited to CLUB membership, VOC and IN Store Pick up.
• Ensures 4473 Forms are completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Obtains the ability to demonstrate product to customers.
• Organizes and maintains Merchandise within the retail Store for Sales at Gun Counter Responsibility.
• Replenishes product on shelves as required per merchandising guidelines.
• Remains product "expert" through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Remains knowledgeable of advertised sales; maintains pricing and signing.
• Assists with Seasonal Floor merchandise moves.
• Keeps work area clean, neat and well stocked with supplies.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in Retail
• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Knowledge and Experience Product knowledge of Firearms and Ammunition
• Knowledge in ATF Federal and State Regulations

• Constantly stand and/or walk during shift
