Overview
Pleasant Mountain is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our group sales efforts. This is a key, full-time, year-round, salaried position that is mainly remote, with some in-person work required for key client meetings and events.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for building relationships and possess a track record of success in sales. This is an exciting opportunity to build a new sales pipeline and directly impact the growth of Pleasant Mountain by generating and growing revenue through the strategic development and management of group-related sales.
Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan to achieve and exceed annual revenue goals for group sales. This includes identifying and actively pursuing new business opportunities within various segments, such as corporate outings, school trips, youth groups, and other social events.
- Proactive Sales & Prospecting: Build a strong sales pipeline through proactive outreach, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events. Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial inquiry and proposal to contract negotiation and closing.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all group sales inquiries. Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with clients by understanding their needs and creating customized packages that include lift tickets, rentals, ski lessons, food and beverage, and event space.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Guest Services, SnowSports, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure a seamless and exceptional experience for all group guests.
- Administrative & Reporting: Utilize a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, Amadeus) to accurately track all sales activities, manage accounts, and report on sales performance to management.
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within the hospitality, tourism, or sports and recreation industry. Experience with group or event sales is a significant plus.
- Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, and close business effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to build rapport and communicate persuasively with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in CRM platforms like Salesforce, Amadeus, or similar systems.
- Work Ethic: Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong organizational skills with a keen aptitude for problem-solving.
- Flexibility: Must be available for periodic travel and possess a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs and business demands.
