Job description

URGE FITNESS is hiring a Sales Manager to drive personal training sales, support membership sales, conduct fitness consultations and evaluations, coordinate with personal trainers, and help oversee daily club operations.

This is a hands‑on sales management role with a heavy focus on personal training revenue. The Sales Manager is expected to personally sell, follow up with leads, conduct consultations, identify member needs, present personal training options, close sales, and work directly with trainers to ensure clients are properly serviced after the sale.

The right candidate is competitive, organized, confident with sales conversations, comfortable discussing fitness goals with members, and capable of leading people, not just holding a manager title.

Who We Are Looking For
  • Can consistently sell personal training services
  • Is comfortable conducting fitness consultations and evaluations
  • Can confidently present personal training options and ask for the sale
  • Is comfortable being held accountable to daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals
  • Can work closely with personal trainers to ensure clients are scheduled, serviced, and retained
  • Can lead by example through calls, follow‑up, consultations, tours, and closing
  • Communicates professionally with members, prospects, trainers, staff, and managers
  • Can help oversee the club while on duty, including staff, cleanliness, and member experience
  • Notices problems and follows through without needing constant direction
  • Is available for evenings, weekends, and high‑traffic sales times as needed

Experience in personal training sales, fitness consultations, gym membership sales, fitness management or commission‑based sales is strongly preferred.

What You Will Do

Personal Training Sales & Consultations. This role is heavily focused on selling personal training.

Responsibilities include
  • Conduct fitness consultations and evaluations with members and prospects
  • Discuss member goals, health and fitness history, motivation, obstacles, and training needs
  • Recommend appropriate personal training options based on member goals and club offerings
  • Present personal training packages clearly and confidently
  • Overcome objections and close personal training sales professionally
  • Follow up with consultation no‑shows, undecided prospects, past PT leads, and current members
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly personal training sales goals
  • Maintain a professional, ethical, and member‑focused sales process
Trainer Coordination & Client Service

The Sales Manager must work hand in hand with the personal training team to make sure clients are properly serviced after the sale.

Responsibilities include
  • Coordinate with personal trainers on new client handoffs
  • Help ensure new PT clients are scheduled quickly and correctly
  • Communicate client goals, needs, and expectations to the assigned trainer
  • Follow up on client onboarding, attendance, and satisfaction
  • Help identify clients who may need additional support, rescheduling, or service recovery
  • Communicate trainer availability, scheduling issues, client concerns, and sales opportunities to management
  • Help protect the personal training client experience from sale through ongoing service
Membership Sales & Revenue Growth

While the main focus is personal training, the Sales Manager may also support membership sales and overall club revenue.

Shift Leadership & Club Operations

Sales Managers are also expected to help oversee general club operations while on duty. Depending on the schedule, you may work alongside other managers or be the primary lead in the club during your shift.

Responsibilities include
  • Oversee general club operations during assigned shifts
  • Help ensure the facility is clean, organized, and member‑ready
  • Monitor the front desk, fitness floor, bathrooms, locker rooms, and common areas
  • Support, direct, and hold staff accountable during the shift
  • Address basic member questions, concerns, and service issues professionally
  • Escalate serious issues to the appropriate manager or leadership team
  • Communicate shift updates, facility issues, member concerns, trainer needs, and staffing concerns to other managers
  • Coordinate with club leadership on appointments, staffing, sales priorities, PT client needs, and operational issues
  • Help maintain a professional, clean, safe, and high‑energy club environment
What Success Looks Like

Successful Sales Managers are consistent, visible, organized, and accountable.

They personally drive personal training sales, conduct consultations, follow up with leads, coordinate with trainers, and keep members moving from interest to purchase to service.

Success in this role requires
  • Strong personal training sales ability
  • Confidence conducting fitness consultations and evaluations
  • Consistent follow‑up habits
  • Strong phone and in‑person communication
  • Ability to close sales
  • Daily accountability to goals
  • Strong coordination with personal trainers
  • Client service follow‑through after the sale
  • Staff leadership and accountability
  • Ownership of the club while on duty
  • Professional communication with members, staff, trainers, and management

You will receive coaching, feedback, and support, but results matter.

Sales Goals & Performance Expectations

This role has daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals, with a heavy focus on personal training sales performance.

Sales Managers are expected to meet minimum monthly sales expectations and help drive overall club revenue. Commission and bonus opportunities are tied to sales performance. Commission and bonuses are earned only after required minimum monthly sales goals are achieved. Sales Managers who exceed monthly goals may also qualify for additional performance bonuses. Failure to consistently meet sales expectations may result in coaching, schedule changes, reduced assigned hours, changes in role responsibilities, or separation from employment, consistent with company policy and applicable law.

Schedule
Availability needed may include

  • Weekends
  • High‑traffic club hours
  • Scheduled sales appointments

Additional bonus opportunities may also be available for Sales Managers who exceed monthly sales goals, help drive personal training revenue, and deliver strong overall results.

Actual earnings vary based on individual sales performance, team performance, consistency, follow‑up, consultation volume, closing ability, schedule, lead flow, and monthly results.

Pay range: $18–$25 per hour base hourly pay.

Commission opportunity: Available on qualifying sales after the minimum monthly goal is achieved.

Bonus opportunity: Additional bonuses may be available for exceeding monthly sales goals and performance expectations.

Full‑time employees may be eligible for a benefits package that includes paid time off, matching 401(k), health insurance, discounted or free gym memberships, discounts on select club services and add‑ons, employee discount programs, profit‑sharing opportunities, and a retirement bonus / defined‑benefit‑style retirement program, subject to eligibility and plan requirements.
