Job summary

Rush & Company, a well-established importer and distributor of home décor, wall décor, and home furnishings serving major US retailers, seeks a Sales Manager to lead the Home Décor & Wall Décor category in off-price and specialty channels.

You will manage day‑to‑day accounts, drive revenue growth, and collaborate with product development, sourcing, and operations to align assortments with buyer calendars. Travel domestically for market weeks, buyer visits, and trade shows as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of sales experience in home décor, wall décor, or home furnishings.
  • Experience selling to off-price or specialty retail accounts (HomeGoods, TJX, Ross, Burlington, At Home, Hobby Lobby).
  • Strong understanding of off-price retail buying, pricing, product development cycles and GTM timelines.
  • Existing buyer relationships at major off-price or specialty retail chains is a plus.

With a broad and commercially driven product portfolio, they maintain strong relationships with buyers at the nation's leading retail chains and have built a reputation for delivering trend-right product at compelling value. This is a company that operates with the speed and agility required in the off-price market - and they need a sales leader who can match that energy.

The Sales Manager - Home Décor & Wall Décor will be responsible for managing and growing the company's account base within the off-price and specialty retail channels, with a primary focus on home décor and wall décor categories. This person will serve as the day-to-day commercial contact for key retail accounts, driving both existing program performance and new business development. This is a senior-level, high-accountability role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, product-driven sales environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish, develop, and maintain buyer relationships at key off-price and specialty retail accounts including HomeGoods, Ross, Burlington, At Home, and Hobby Lobby
  • Drive revenue growth across the home décor and wall décor categories by identifying and securing new business opportunities aligned with the company's product strategy
  • Manage the full sales cycle for existing and prospective accounts - from initial buyer meetings through product selection, pricing negotiation, and order execution
  • Develop seasonal account plans and ensure alignment between product development timelines and buyer calendars
  • Interface directly with buyers, planners, and merchandising teams at retail partners to understand assortment needs and category trends
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, sourcing, and operations teams to ensure product alignment with customer requirements and price points
  • Understand and communicate off-price pricing structures, margin expectations, and product development cycles to internal stakeholders
  • Track and report sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity on a regular basis
  • Represent the company at key retail market weeks, trade shows, and buyer visits as required
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of sales experience in the home décor, wall décor, and/or home furnishings industry
  • Demonstrated experience selling to off-price retail accounts - HomeGoods, TJX, Ross, Burlington, or comparable channels
  • Deep understanding of off-price retail buying processes, pricing pressure, product development cycles, and go-to-market timelines
  • Existing buyer relationships at one or more major off-price or specialty retail chains
  • Experience with specialty retailers such as At Home and Hobby Lobby is a strong plus
  • California-based candidates with experience at LA-area home décor companies strongly preferred
  • Strong commercial instincts - ability to identify opportunity, build a proposal, and close business independentlyExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed for buyer meetings, market weeks, and trade shows
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
