Job summary

Underground Printing, located in Ann Arbor, MI, seeks a Sales Manager to lead the store team and drive revenue from B2C and B2B channels. This full‑time role reports to the Regional Sales Manager and may require occasional after‑hours support to assist customers and urgent matters.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, strong communication skills, and prior apparel/retail sales experience. Proficiency with Gmail, cloud tools, and social media is a plus, with management experience

Responsibilities

• Promote Underground Printing’s values and maintain an inclusive, respectful DEI environment.
• Convert quotes into sales, collaborating with marketing to move prospects through the funnel.
• Report sales performance and store updates to the Regional Sales Manager.
• Maintain the Digital Code of Conduct and provide constructive feedback.
• Attend weekly meetings with the Regional Sales Manager and the L10 group.
• Provide coverage for colleagues (email, phone, travel when needed).
• Deliver an outstanding customer experience via phone, email or in person.
• Identify and propose new sales and marketing tools to leadership.
• Collaborate with National Sales Manager and Head of Marketing for events and local opportunities.
• Assist with store opening/closing, cash handling, and storefront presentation.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise Store Associates.
• Ensure store operations follow opening checklists, deposits, and holiday schedules.
• Coordinate displays, inventory stocking, and special event days.

Underground Printing (UGP) is a leading screen printing and embroidery company with a dedicated focus on customer experience. We produce the majority of our printed apparel in our Michigan facility (172,000 SF) and serve both B2C and B2B customers, including non‑profits, retailers, universities and brands that license UGP's production capabilities. Position Overview

The Sales Manager will operate out of our Ann Arbor, MI retail location, working full‑time in a fixed schedule. The role reports to the Regional Sales Manager and directly oversees store and sales associates. Availability outside regular business hours may be required for customer support and urgent matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote UGP’s core values and create an inclusive, respectful environment in line with DEI principles.
• Convert incoming quotes into sales, collaborating closely with marketing to move prospects through the funnel.

• Participate in weekly one‑on‑one meetings with the Regional Sales Manager and the Leadership 10 (L10) group.

• Identify and propose new sales and marketing tools to the Regional Sales Manager and the National Sales Manager.
• Collaborate with the National Sales Manager and Head of Marketing to engage customers and drive sales at events and local opportunities.
• Assist with store opening/closing, cash handling, and maintain storefront presentation.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise Store Associates.
• Ensure store operations comply with opening checklists, bank deposit procedures, and holiday schedules.
• Coordinate store displays, inventory stocking, and special event days (e.g., home football weekends, graduations, fairs).

Location & Schedule

Base: Ann Arbor, MI retail location. Fixed work schedule with occasional unscheduled coverage required.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous sales experience, preferably in apparel or retail.
• Fast and accurate typing skills.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Gmail, cloud tools, and social media.
• Prior management experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Full‑time salaried position with performance bonus. Paid time off, paid holidays, and eligibility for the 401(k) plan with 4% employer match.
