Job summary

Soma is hiring a Sales Lead to partner with store leaders in Lakeland, FL. You will supervise the team, model brand standards, and drive a welcoming, customer-centric environment that goes beyond transactions.

You will coach associates, manage operations, and ensure smooth daily store functions while upholding our hospitality culture and brand messaging.

Qualifications

• 2 years of retail management experience
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products, lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Assist store leadership with opening and closing responsibilities
• Share brand priorities and messages with store teams
• Lead by example on the sales floor and promote omni-channel selling
• Provide coaching to keep the team aligned with performance goals
• Handle cash, scheduling, inventory, and merchandise replenishment
• Stay informed about current promotions and store policies
• Support associate development and scheduling when needed
• Share ideas with store leadership

About the role

As a Sales Lead, you partner closely with store leaders to supervise the team, lead by example, and step in to support leadership responsibilities wherever needed. You play a pivotal role in upholding brand standards and helping shape a positive team culture. You will set the tone for achieving team goals by providing clear direction and support. As a role model for the team, you demonstrate a welcoming, customer-centered environment that goes beyond the transaction to create memorable, personalized experiences that reflect our culture of hospitality.

The impact you can have

• Assist the store leadership team with general store operations, including opening and closing responsibilities.
• Actively share brand priorities, initiatives, and messages with store teams.
• Lead by example on the sales floor, sharing product knowledge and utilizing an omni-channel approach.
• Provide coaching and encouragement to keep the team on track with performance goals.
• Execute operations activities, including cash handling, scheduling, inventory management, and merchandise replenishment.
• Be knowledgeable about current sales, promotions, and store policies.
• Support associate development, provide coaching feedback, and assist with scheduling, when needed.
• Share ideas and insights with the store leadership team.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by embracing teamwork with peers and leaders.

What you’ll bring to the role

• 2 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• A team player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products as well as maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, operate the register, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
