Job summary

Journeys is seeking energetic team members to support store operations for youth fashion. Join a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow, obtain hands-on sales leadership experience, and be part of a team that values creativity and community.

This role emphasizes customer service, coaching junior staff, meeting sales goals, and maintaining store standards. Night and weekend shifts required; age 18+; lift up to 50 pounds; training leads to Sales Lead or equivalent role.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong customer service skills and be able to engage with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in retail sales is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist store management with basic store operations.
  • Develop associates and help achieve store and personal sales goals.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees and enforce company policies.
  • Perform opening and closing duties and supervise daily store operations.
  • Oversee Loss Prevention practices in the absence of store management.
  • Communicate store needs to management and complete assigned tasks and trainings.
  • Deliver a fun, full-service customer experience and resolve issues promptly.
  • Support training programs leading to Sales Lead or equivalent roles.
  • Enjoy night and weekend shifts as required.
  • Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

JOB SUMMARY

To assist store management with basic store operations, developing associates, and achieving store and personal sales goals and standards of performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance
  • Assist in training and developing a successful sales team
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing all company policies and practices
  • Perform all opening and closing duties according to company policy
  • Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations in store management's absence
  • Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices in store management's absence
  • Effectively communicate all store needs to store management
  • Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities promptly
  • Complete all required training
  • Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers
  • Resolve customer issues effectively
  • Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment
  • Willingness to learn
  • Completion of all training programs leading up to Sales Lead position or equivalent training
  • Ability to work night and weekend shifts
  • Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Must be at least 18 years of age*
