Job summary

Coinbase in New York offers a 12-week summer internship in Sales, Trading, and Prime (STP) within the Institutional team. You will rotate through Sales, Account Management, Execution Services, Financing, Solutions Architecture, and Research to gain a comprehensive view of institutional client needs.

You will analyze data, prepare market commentary, and create client materials while tracking opportunities and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the crypto/blockchain industry and ability to contextualize market trends for institutional audiences.
• Experience with crypto ecosystems (self-custody, DeFi, staking, trading) through personal use, coursework, or projects.
• Prior experience in a sales or business development role with a track record of generating leads and building relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to produce clear, structured written deliverables such as research summaries, presentations, or market analysis.
• Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

This is a 12-week internship during summer 2027.

As a Sales, Trading, and Prime (STP) Intern, you'll join the Institutional team and rotate through Sales, Account Management, Execution Services, Financing, Solutions Architecture, and Research. This team engages with the world's most sophisticated institutions to introduce new products, provide market color, devise financing solutions, and deliver client feedback that informs product development. You'll come away with a unique understanding of our clients' needs and how Coinbase builds relationships and trust through outstanding service and product capabilities.

What you’ll do:

• Rotate across 2 STP functions such as Sales, Account Management, Execution Services, Financing, Solutions Architecture, and Research to build a comprehensive view of institutional client needs


• Analyze data for trends and opportunities, producing competitor analysis and market commentary that inform client engagement strategies


• Create pitchbooks and outreach materials for client presentations and high-value prospect engagement


• Triage and follow up with inbound leads to qualify sales opportunities, tracking progress across product campaigns


• Research and propose process improvements that grow and strengthen the STP business

Required Skills and Experience:

• Currently in your junior year of an undergraduate program (rising senior in summer 2027) with demonstrated academic achievement


• Knowledge of the crypto/blockchain industry and familiarity with financial markets, with the ability to contextualize market trends for institutional audiences


• Experience with crypto ecosystems (e.g., self-custody, DeFi, staking, trading) through personal use, coursework, or projects


• Prior experience in a sales or business development role (e.g., internship, campus organization, or entrepreneurial venture) with a track record of proactively generating leads and building relationships.


• Demonstrated ability to produce clear, structured written deliverables such as research summaries, presentations, or market analysis through coursework, projects, or prior internships


• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target hourly rate for this position can range as detailed below.

Hourly Rate: $40—$40 USD
