Job summary

Cloudpermit is expanding beyond community development software into asset management and is hiring a founding Sales Engineer to lead that growth. You will partner with Account Executives to win business, lead product demonstrations, and direct RFPs while serving as a subject matter expert.

As a founding member of this new business line, you will shape the asset management roadmap, drive market-fit, and influence messaging with Product and Marketing teams across North America.

Qualifications

  • Experience selling and/or integrating asset management software with small and mid-sized municipalities.
  • Proven track record working with sales teams to drive revenue in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions consulting capacity.
  • Strong understanding of municipal asset management practices, workflows, and challenges.
  • Experience leading product demonstrations and translating technical capabilities into business value.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate customer and market feedback into actionable product and messaging priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical asset management domain expert throughout the sales cycle, partnering with Account Executives to qualify opportunities and drive revenue.
  • Lead product demonstrations and RFP responses.
  • Translate municipal asset management workflows and customer requirements into clear technical solutions and compelling value propositions.
  • Partner with the Product team to prioritize the asset management roadmap based on market needs and direct customer feedback.
  • Help establish and validate product-market fit for Cloudpermit’s asset management offering.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to shape key messaging, positioning, and sales collateral.
  • Train, coach, and work alongside the sales team to develop their domain expertise.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, demo environments, and sales enablement materials.
  • Represent Cloudpermit at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Gather and relay competitive and market intelligence to Product, Marketing, and Sales leadership

Job description

Cloudpermit is expanding beyond community development software into asset management, and we are hiring our founding Sales Engineer to help lead that growth. Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, you will be the technical and domain expert who partners with Account Executives to win business with new and existing customers. You will lead product demonstrations, direct RFPs, and serve as a subject matter expert.

As a founding member of this new business line, you will work closely with our Product and Marketing teams to guide the product roadmap, establish product-market fit, and shape the key messaging that positions Cloudpermit in the asset management space. This is a rare opportunity to combine deep domain expertise with cross-functional influence and build something from the ground up.

Qualifications, Skills, and Past Experience
  • Demonstrated experience selling and/or integrating asset management software with small and mid-sized municipalities
  • Proven track record working alongside sales teams to drive revenue in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or solutions consulting capacity
  • Strong understanding of municipal asset management practices, workflows, and challenges
  • Experience leading product demonstrations and translating technical capabilities into business value
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to translate customer and market feedback into actionable product and messaging priorities
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product and Marketing teams
  • Comfortable operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving, founding-team environment and building processes and materials from scratch
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience creating technical documentation and sales enablement materials
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, industry events, and conferences as needed
