Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking a Sales Director with a strong background in industrial services sales and knowledge of electrical and automation & controls engineering consulting and project management services.

You will lead a team of 4 business development managers and drive growth across North America, with 50% US travel. The role focuses on outside sales to End Users, Contractors, OEMs and engineering firms, aiming to meet a $50M annual sales budget and develop a strategic sales plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industrial service sales experience in engineering consulting and project management services, or related industry.
• Experience with automation & control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI), Industrial Networks, Low and Medium voltage systems, Electrical Construction Work Packages, Commissioning/Start-ups and Power Systems (including arc flash and coordination).
• 3+ years’ experience in a related industry.
• High energy goal-oriented team player, excellent internal & external communication, forecasting, and solution selling skills.
• Prefer knowledge of sectors: agri-food, power generation, oil/gas, mining, petro-chemical.
• Prefer sales and/or production experience with Construction, outage, and project management; Consultative engineering; Detailed engineering and design; NERC program management and testing services.
• Solid computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point.
• 50% domestic travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide outside sales targeting electrical and controls engineering and project management services.
• Experience providing solution repair services and new equipment to End Users, Contractors, OEMs and Engineering firms.
• Responsible for all sales efforts in assigned territory including organic growth with existing customers and developing new customers to meet an annual sales budget of $50M.
• Perform direct sales and business development activities which contribute to the growth and retention of business so as to meet or exceed targeted sales goals.
• Responsible for developing a sales strategy for the company’s engineering and controls business.
• Assist in the preparation of estimates, sales proposals, and sales presentations.
• Visit assigned account(s) on a regular basis to maintain a strategic relationship; identify opportunities quickly.
• Maintain industry knowledge and improve technical knowledge based on market requirements.
• Support marketing activities such as road shows, conferences, tradeshows, trainings and sales engagement events.
• Support customer accounts from sales, securing purchase orders, terms and conditions, and customer relations.
• Be a front-line focal point between sales and production to qualify opportunities.
• Lead customer discussions and lunch-and-learns; work with Customer Service to enhance buying experience.

• Perform job walks. Be a front-line focal point between sales and production to qualify opportunities.
