Job summary

Hyperflex is seeking a Senior Elastic Engineer/Consultant to deliver customer-facing engagements across Search and Observability use cases. You will design, implement, and troubleshoot Elastic-based solutions in production, including vector and hybrid search, and manage data ingestion pipelines with Kafka and Elastic components.

The role emphasizes solution design, migration tasks, and close collaboration with customers and internal teams in a consulting capacity.

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Elastic Engineer / Consultant with 4–6 years of hands-on Elastic experience to deliver customer-facing consulting engagements. This role focuses on solution design, implementation, and troubleshooting across Search and Observability use cases.

This is a consulting role, not product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Elastic consulting services to enterprise customers
• Design, deploy, and operate Elasticsearch clusters in production environments
• Implement and optimize Search solutions, including: Index design, mappings, and analyzers Query optimization and relevance tuning Alias-based index versioning and zero-downtime rollouts
• Work on modern Search use cases, including: Semantic search and vector search Hybrid search (BM25 + vector) Search performance and scalability optimization
• Design and implement Observability solutions using Elastic for logs, metrics, and traces
• Build and manage data ingestion pipelines using Elastic Agent, Beats, Logstash, and Kafka
• Perform Elastic Stack upgrades and migrations (e.g., 7.x → 8.x)
• Implement Cross-Cluster Replication (CCR) and Disaster Recovery strategies
• Troubleshoot complex production issues related to ingestion, search performance, and cluster health
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to translate requirements into Elastic architectures
• Create and maintain runbooks, documentation, and best-practice guidelines

Required Experience

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience with Elasticsearch / Elastic Stack
• Strong experience designing and operating Elasticsearch clusters in production
• Hands‑on experience with Search use cases, including: Index design, mappings, and analyzers Query DSL, filters, aggregations, and sorting Relevance tuning, boosting, and scoring strategies
• Experience with modern search patterns, such as: Semantic search and vector search Hybrid search (BM25 + vector similarity)
• Solid understanding of Elasticsearch internals (shards, indexing, search performance, scaling)
• Experience working with Elastic Stack components: Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agent
• Hands‑on experience with data ingestion pipelines, including Kafka-based ingestion
• Experience delivering Observability use cases (logs, metrics, traces) using Elastic
• Familiarity with Elastic security features (TLS, RBAC, API keys)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across search relevance, performance, and ingestion issues
• Ability to explain search and observability concepts clearly in a consulting environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Elastic certification (Engineer / Observability)
• Prior customer‑facing consulting experience
• Experience with semantic search, vector search, and observability use cases
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile delivery models
