Job summary

Kimbrell’s Furniture is seeking a Sales Consultant to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales through consultative selling and local partnerships.

You will build relationships, promote financing options, and stay informed on products and promotions to support customer decisions. The role requires flexibility with retail hours and a strong team-to-customer approach.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant sales or customer service experience considered
  • Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred
  • Social media/business-building experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and deliver strong customer experiences
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn POS and financing systems
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements, including lifting/moving merchandise
  • Flexible retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Bilingual English-Spanish a plus depending on store staffing

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences in a professional, courteous, consultative manner
  • Drive business growth by generating store traffic and increasing sales via social media, community outreach, and local partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and referrals
  • Achieve sales goals through proactive customer engagement, follow-up, and business development
  • Promote products, financing options, and add-on solutions to maximize sales
  • Maintain knowledge of products, warranties, and promotions to aid decisions
  • Complete sales documents, quotes, and orders in line with policies
  • Process transactions accurately and handle payments and receipts; resolve discrepancies with management
  • Support showroom operations with a neat, organized sales floor
  • Assist with merchandising, assembly, and furniture movement as needed
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and conduct expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Summary

The Sales Consultant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while driving sales performance through consultative selling, relationship building, and proactive business development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences by engaging customers in a professional, courteous, and consultative manner aligned with Kimbrell’s Sales Model
  • Proactively drive business growth by generating store traffic and increasing sales through strategic social media engagement, community outreach, and local partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat business and referrals while representing the company brand
  • Achieve established sales goals through proactive customer engagement, follow-up, and business development activities
  • Promote products, financing options, and add-on solutions to maximize sales and overall transaction value
  • Maintain current knowledge of product offerings, warranties, and promotions to support informed customer decisions
  • Accurately complete sales documentation, quotes, and order details in compliance with company policies
  • Process transactions (cash, credit, and installment sales) accurately and ensure proper handling of payments and receiptsMaintain accountability for cash handling and resolve transaction discrepancies in collaboration with management
  • Support showroom operations by maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor
  • Assist with merchandising, product assembly, and furniture movement as needed
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and professional conduct expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Abilities
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals with a high level of motivation and competitive drive.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to influence purchasing decisions through product knowledge and solution-based selling.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and transaction processing.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency for calculating totals, pricing, and financing terms.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a retail environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve customer concerns promptly.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to lift, move, and arrange furniture (10–100+ pounds).
  • Flexibility to work retail schedules, including weekends and extended hours.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant sales or customer service experience will be considered
  • Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred
  • Previous social media business building experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and deliver strong customer experiences
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale and financing systems
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements, including lifting and moving merchandise with or without accommodation
  • Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) ability may be a plus based on specific store staffing needs
