Job summary

Green Valley Grocery in Henderson, NV seeks a reliable retail associate responsible for ringing up sales, handling cash, stocking shelves, and assisting customers with questions about location, price, and products. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Record each sale accurately, promptly and in accordance with company policy and standards.
• Accept payment and make change for merchandise and services; wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
• Perform all duties necessary to maintain a clean and attractive store, both inside and out, in accordance with company policy and standards and as assigned by management.
• Learn and comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state and municipal laws.
• Communicate with associates and customers in English and maintain amicable work relationships with fellow employees.
• Maintain awareness of product knowledge, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements.
• Answer customer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise or services.
• Use company selling guidelines to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
• Stock shelves, counters, coolers or tables with merchandise per company policy and procedure.
• Set up advertising or promotional displays or arrange merchandise to promote sales.
• Accurately receive merchandise from vendors according to company policy and procedure.
• Read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
• Undertake and support any policy, change, system or procedure the company implements regarding the basic function of the position.
• Work with minimum supervision, performing essential duties in environments that may sometimes include increased levels of work‑related stress.
• Based on location, prepare food & drinks, clean, stock and maintain food prep area in compliance with health codes.
• Secure all funds in safe or register; make timely drops and maintain cash drawer at or below maximum level in accordance with company policies.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Lift 50 pounds at 4 feet high; 20 pounds at 5 feet high, without aid.
• Sit or stand for up to a full 8‑hour shift.
• Work unaccompanied, standing, and without defined break periods; occasionally work extended shifts over 8 hours.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Work around fumes, odors, chemical agents and solvents.
• Work in various temperatures and environmental conditions.
• Maintain balance and climb up to 5 feet on a ladder.
• Freely access all areas of store facilities inside and out including sales floor, stocking area, storage area, walk‑in coolers and freezers, register area, fuel islands, landscaping and car wash facilities.
• Operate and use all equipment necessary in the basic function of the position.
