Eyeglass World in Springfield, MO, part of National Vision, seeks an Optical Specialist to deliver premier in-store experiences. You will guide eyewear choices, perform fittings, and ensure quality, while supporting finish and pickup with a customer-first approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service.
• Strong multitasking, time management and organizational skills.
• Clear communication and ability to educate customers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit.
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting and product education.
• Ensure customers leave confident in both eyewear and experience.
• Assist with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support Optometrists.
• Help ensure smooth transitions between exam, finish, and pickup moments.
• Serve as a calm, knowledgeable presence throughout the customer journey.
• Perform finishing work including final adjustments, inspections and quality checks.
• Ensure all eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function and presentation.
• Prepare orders for pickup and deliver polished, brand-aligned handoff.
• Support order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
• Maintain organized, clean, and efficient finish and retail areas.
• Identify and resolve quality or service issues proactively.
• Model Eyeglass World service standards, tone, and behaviors in every interaction.
• Uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards in the store.
• Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent and elevated experience.

Job Description

The Optical Specialist is customer-facing role at the heart of the Eyeglass World in-store experience. This position brings the brand to life through confident service, attention to detail, and ownership of the final moments that matter most, from pre-exam support to eyewear readiness, fitting, and pickup. As a key member of the team, this role ensures every customer interaction feels seamless, elevated, and on-brand. This role blends customer connection, optical support, and finishing excellence to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences.

Essential Functions:

• Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education
