San Rafael – Sales Associate / Material Handler (Part-Time)
Pay rate: $18.07 per hour.
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no‑fee program that assists men and women in completing the rehabilitation program. The organization values the contributions of its employees and depends on their diligence and devotion.

Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register.
- Must pass a background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, drawers, merchandise carts, rolling racks, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to operate a telephone.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet all customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
- Stock priced items ready for merchandising on the sales floor per Salvation Army standards.
- Sort donations for processing per Salvation Army standards.
- Assist in maintaining store cleanliness and organization, performing cleaning duties as assigned by store managers and supervisors.
- Perform cleaning tasks including windows, dusting, cash wrap area, fitting rooms, bathrooms, stockroom, breakroom, sweeping, mopping, donation area.
- Maintain assigned department in compliance with TSA merchandising standards.
- Follow all POS/Cash Register policies in accordance with TSA policies and procedures.
- Maintain safety standards and report hazards or problems to managers.
- Follow all HR policies and procedures.
- Attend required monthly store meetings.
- Follow dress code policy per TSA policies and procedures.
- Work schedules are determined by management; part‑time associates may work any part‑time shift including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
- Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately and efficiently.
- Provide quality assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
- Maintain and clean the donation trailer/pod area at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Assist donors with removal of donated items from vehicles and provide receipt.
- Separate and sort donated materials into proper containers, stacking as instructed by store manager.
- Perform other written or verbal duties as assigned by store manager, assistant manager, shift supervisor, district sales manager, or command administration.
Schedule
Our stores operate seven days per week. Part‑time associates may be scheduled for any shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
