The Salvation Army Orange County is seeking a part-time Sales Associate/Material Handler for the Buena Park Store. You will greet customers and donors, handle POS transactions, stock shelves, and keep the store and donation areas clean and organized.

You will also assist with inventory, pricing, and donor receipts while upholding TSA policies. Must be able to pass a background check, work flexible hours including weekends, and communicate effectively with staff and customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass a background check (Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry).
• Excellent communication with management, coworkers, donors and customers.

Responsabilités

• Greet customers and donors warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock and merchandize items on the sales floor; maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Assist in store and donation area upkeep and housekeeping tasks.
• Perform cleaning duties as directed by management.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and TSA procedures.
• Ensure safety and compliance standards at all times.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately.
• Inspect donated items for quality and damages; provide receipts to donors.
• Assist donors with item removal from vehicles and sorting donations.
• Contribute to other duties as assigned by management.

As our enthusiastic and hardworking Sales Associate/Material Handler, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Ensuring all Customer's and Donors' needs are met by a genuine greeting and giving prompt, and courteous assistance.
• Stocking-priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor.
• Assisting in the maintenance of the store and donation area, to keep it clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned by Management.
• Following all POS/Cash Register Policies in accordance with TSA Policies and Procedures.
• Maintaining safety and compliance standards.
• Attending required Monthly Store Meetings.
• Receiving, unloading, and stocking incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
• Providing Quality Assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
• Courteously assist the donor in the removal of all donated items from the donor’s vehicle and provide a receipt.
• Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stacking material as instructed by Management.
• Performing other written and/or verbal duties as may be assigned by Management.

Qualifications to be considered for this position:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass a background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay Rate:

$16.90 per hour.

Schedule:

• Our stores operate 7 days per week, work schedules are determined by Management, and employees must be flexible to always ensure adequate store coverage.
• Part-time associates may be scheduled to work any part-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
