Job summary

Goodwill NCW is seeking a retail team member to ensure smooth checkout, educate customers on Round Up and Good Points programs, and support merchandising efforts. You will handle cash registers, assist customers, and help keep the backroom clean and organized, with a focus on service quality and efficiency.

The role requires basic math, reliability, and willingness to work a flexible schedule including holidays, evenings, and weekends in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by scanning tickets and processing payments accurately.
  • Educate customers on the Round Up and Good Points programs to meet goals.
  • Handle phone calls and paging system; maintain clean, organized backroom/stockroom.
  • Assist customers in locating items and restock merchandise per standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment; follow opening/closing checklists; support cleaning.

Our unwavering commitment to addressing the unique needs of our communities drives us to continuously evolve.What You’ll Get To Do:Ensures customer satisfaction by efficiently and accurately scanning tickets and processing payment while following cash handling standards.Educates customers on Round Up program to achieve program goals.Informs customers on Good Points program to achieve program goals.Operates telephone including professionally answering calls and operating the paging system.Ensures items are properly displayed, pulled, and restocked in alignment with merchandising standards and leadership guidance.Assists customers in locating items when possible or seeks assistance for the customer if unable to help.Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area; completes opening/closing checklists and supports general cleaning, including parking lot maintenance.Other duties as assigned.What We Need From You:Excellent time management and prioritization skills and the ability to work through multiple tasks simultaneously under time constraints.Excellent communication, customer service and attention to detail.Ability to operate a cash register and accurately count money.Basic math skills required.Fluent in English.Experience with computers or a willingness and ability to learn.Reliable transportation and ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends, with regular and timely attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule.Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the key functions of this job. Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work is performed primarily in a standard retail backroom or warehouse environment with extensive team member contact and frequent interruptions.Primary function requires sufficient physical ability to repetitively:Stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours).Independently twist, lift, carry, push or pull moderate (10 pounds) to heavy (25 pounds) of weight; using a team lift for objects weighing over 25 pounds.Reach (approximately 54 inches).Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch.Sufficient hand and finger dexterity to perform detailed tasks.Verbally communicate to exchange information.
