Job summary

Dollar General in the United States is seeking a Store Associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist in plan-o-gram execution, and ensure merchandise is stocked and presented to maximize sales.

You will greet customers, operate the cash register, handle payments, and support store operations including unloading trucks and maintaining a clean sales floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to operate the cash register and handle cash accurately.
• Basic math and arithmetic skills for transactions.
• Familiarity with plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Proficiency with IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes; stock shelves or move merchandise to sales floor.
• Build and stock displays; rotate merchandise as needed.
• Restock recovered merchandise and ensure shelves are tidy.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep store clean: front-end, stockroom, and restroom areas.

Job Details General Summary:

Act as the point of contact for customers. Assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-ograms and programs. Stock merchandise adequately. Perform other duties as necessary to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork, while protecting company assets.

Duties And Essential Job Functions

• Unload trucks.
• Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment from customer and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
