The Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracuse, NY is hiring a full-time Sales Associate II for our New Hartford Thrifty Shopper. You will assist customers by displaying, tagging, pricing merchandise and promoting the store’s value to the community.

Join a team focused on service, reliability and a safe, welcoming shopping environment. You’ll handle transactions, help open/close procedures when needed and support store management to deliver great customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years retail experience preferred.
• Previous cash register and reconciliation experience preferred.
• Emotionally mature and able to handle stress in public.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and promote merchandise with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Display, promote, price, and tag merchandise on shelves, racks, and tables.
• Assist in opening/closing procedures in the absence of store management.
• Process payments including cash, checks, and credit cards; reconcile cash when needed.
• Maintain a clean, orderly store and stock shelves; assist customers as needed.
• Promote Rescue Mission while building relationships with customers.
• Identify, report, and help resolve issues with store management.

The Rescue Mission is seeking a Full-Time Sales Associate IIto work in our New Hartford ThriftyShopper. The Sales Associate II serves customers by displaying, promoting, sizing, pricing, and tagging merchandise. This position assists store management with running an efficient and service-oriented store. Promotes Rescue Mission while building relationships with customers. Provides customer service by greeting the customers with a smile and hello, providing information, and answering questions. Responsible for opening and closing procedures in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager. Responsible for cash reconciliation at the end of shifts in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager. Displays merchandise by stocking shelves, counters, racks and tables, as needed. Promotes sales by setting up displays, making announcements as directed by the supervisor and informing customers of the special sales. Obtains payments by processing cash, checks, sales discounts, and credit cards. Maintains the clean and orderly condition of the store. Contributes by displaying a team attitude. Creates a safe environment by complying with procedures and policies. Assists in identifying, reporting and solving issues to the store management.

Education Requirements

• High School diplomas or GED certificate

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Needed to Perform Effectively in this Position

• 1-3 years retail experience preferred

• Emotionally mature and able to handle stress professionally and in public
