Job summary

Rescue Mission in Binghamton is seeking a Full-Time Sales Associate I for our Thrifty Shopper Store. You will assist customers, stock shelves, price and tag merchandise, and help run an orderly, service-oriented shop.

You will greet customers, handle cash, checks, and cards, and support opening/closing when managers are away. The role requires a friendly demeanor, ability to stand long hours, and flexible weekends.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years retail experience preferred.
• Previous cash register and reconciliation experience preferred.
• Emotionally mature and able to handle stress professionally and in public.

Responsibilities

The Rescue Mission is seeking a Full-Time Sales Associate Ito work in our Binghamton Thrifty Shopper Store. The Sales Associate I serves customers by displaying, promoting, sizing, pricing, and tagging merchandise. This position assists store management with running an efficient and service-oriented store. Promotes Rescue Mission while building relationships with customers. Provides customer service by greeting the customers with a smile and hello, providing information, and answering questions. Responsible for opening and closing procedures in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager. Responsible for cash reconciliation at the end of shifts in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager. Displays merchandise by stocking shelves, counters, racks and tables, as needed. Promotes sales by setting up displays, making announcements as directed by the supervisor and informing customers of the special sales. Obtains payments by processing cash, checks, sales discounts, and credit cards. Maintains the clean and orderly condition of the store. Contributes by displaying a team attitude. Creates a safe environment by complying with procedures and policies. Assists in identifying, reporting and solving issues to the store management.

Education Requirements

• High School diplomas or GED certificate
