Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is hiring a Sales Associate for the General Rentals team. You will embark on a structured Sales Development Program to build foundational skills in sales, customer relations, and product knowledge, progressing toward an Outside Sales role with ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

The role starts with local branch training, then digital onboarding, and exposure to multiple sales campaigns. A strong customer focus and drive to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role (preferred).
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile device skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M‑F.

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to learn the equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join North America onboarding to sharpen sales techniques.
• Engage in outbound campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master sales tools including our CRM and inventory systems.
• Lead high‑level sales conversations, including price negotiations and service contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and events.
• Track development progress with real-time metrics and peer competitions.
