Job summary

USA TODAY Co., Inc. LocaliQ Marketing Solutions is seeking a motivated Sales Associate to join the team. This entry-level role lays the foundation for growth into Media Specialist and Account Executive positions, handling prospecting, pipeline management, and customer engagement.

You will work in a hybrid or remote environment with regular hours, travel as needed, and opportunities for advancement within the USA TODAY Network and LocaliQ.

Responsibilities

• Prospecting & Business Development: conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, referrals, and lead-generation channels.
• Research local businesses and identify advertising opportunities.
• Build and maintain prospect lists using Salesforce and intelligence tools.
• Schedule qualified discovery meetings for Media Specialists and Account Executives.
• Support open territories and transitional account assignments with BD activities.
• Create and develop new sales opportunities contributing to territory growth.
• Sales Activity & Pipeline Management: execute daily activity plans to achieve goals.
• Maintain accurate prospect, activity, and pipeline data in Salesforce.
• Follow established sales processes for lead qualification and opportunity management.
• Monitor and update prospecting campaigns and outreach efforts.
• Research industries and customer needs to inform sales strategy.
• Collaboration & Sales Support: work with Sales Managers, Media Specialists, and Account Executives to grow business.
• Ensure qualified opportunities are documented and transitioned.
• Participate in coaching and training programs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure great customer experiences.
• Customer Engagement: be the initial contact for prospective customers.
• Conduct basic needs assessments and qualification conversations.
• Build relationships with local business decision makers.
• Represent LocaliQ and USA TODAY Network with professionalism.
