Job summary

Bosselman Pump & Pantry is seeking a Sales Associate to serve customers promptly and courteously while following all food handling guidelines. The role involves greeting customers, operating the POS, processing transactions quickly, stocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean store environment.

Candidates should have retail or guest service experience, be proficient with cash registers, and be able to communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Retail or guest service experience preferred.
• Able to read, write and perform math skills.
• Must be flexible and able to work holidays, weekends, and any shift.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly manner and operate the POS system smoothly.
• Process sales quickly and accurately while maintaining proper cashier procedures.
• Ensure items are stocked, priced correctly, and store remains clean and organized.
• Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and temperature control.
• Assist in opening/closing duties and prepare shift paperwork.
• Report issues to management and provide friendly customer service.

Responsibilities

• Arrives at work in a clean and proper uniform, and be clean and neat in appearance.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner. Understand all functions of the POS system.
• Makes change properly.
• Is proficient in opening and closing a shift, including completing all paperwork.
• Uses credit card equipment.
• Processes all sales quickly and accurately.
• Ensures all items are properly stocked and priced correctly.
• Reads and follows directions.
• Checks in vendor delivery.
• Assists in ordering.
• Understands fuel inventory reports.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and perform simple maintenance.
• Keeps store neat and clean, inside and outside.
• Recognizes problems and report them to management.
• Projects a positive attitude.
• Responsible for all aspects of food operations and handling/storage of product. Complies with all food handling guidelines to meet or exceed state/federal regulations.
• Ensures a clean and healthy food service environment for our customers and associates by following proper cooking procedures and temperature holding temps.
• Ensures that all food products are stored properly, rotated and code dated with expiration dates. Also ensure that all food products whether cooked or stored are held at proper temperatures.
• Responsible for temperature testing food to ensure proper food safety and quality control.
• Provides friendly and competent customer service.
• Reports for work in a timely manner when scheduled with regular and consistent attendance.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):

• Retail or guest service experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Able to work the POS system efficiently.
• Ability to read, write and perform math skills.
• Must possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
• Must be well groomed and properly attired.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and any shift needed.
• Must have reliable transportation and phone.
• Must be able to communicate in English. – IF APPLICABLE
• Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
• Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
