Job summary

The Paper Store is seeking Sales Associates to provide a unique shopping experience in a fast-paced environment. You will greet customers, understand their needs, explain product features, and suggest additional items to build sales.

Prospective team members will ring up purchases at the POS, stock shelves, and maintain floor cleanliness while upholding brand standards and a professional appearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in specialty retail is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to use POS systems and basic Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome customers warmly and with enthusiasm.
  • Explain product features and benefits to customer needs.
  • Suggest additional items to build onto sales using effective selling techniques.
  • Process purchases at the POS and maintain accurate transaction records.
  • Stock and merchandise shelves following visual guidelines.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and assist with store upkeep as needed.

Sales Associates report directly to the Store Team Leader and other members of management.Sales associates are responsible for providing customers with a unique shopping experience by utilizing the G.U.E.S.T. service approach. Sales Associates responsibilities also include following company guidelines when ringing up customers at the POS, processing new product, stocking shelves, recovery of the sales floor, and cleaning throughout the store.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Act as a TPS Champion by modeling the G.U.E.S.T. service approach, and consistently delivering World Class ServiceGreet and welcome every customer warmly and with enthusiasmUnderstand customer needs by asking open-ended questionsExplain product features and benefits in relation to the customers’ needs by providing in-depth product knowledgeSuggest additional items to build onto sales by utilizing effective selling techniquesThank the customer sincerely and invite them to return and shop with us againBe a TPS brand ambassadorBuild customer loyalty by being friendly, attentive and respectful of customersContribute to a positive work environment with respectful, ethical behavior and honest communication, demonstrating professionalism at all times.Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, appearance and compliance to company dress codeSupport all sales efforts and initiatives across all business channels in an effort to maximize company salesConsistently capture accurate and valid customer information at the POSMaintain awareness of all current promotions and process them correctly at the Point of SaleEnthusiastically participate in training and development as required utilizing all training resourcesPrepare incoming product for the sales floor by following instruction and guidance from supervisorsMerchandise product following company visual guidelines and visual standardsAfter comprehensive training, performing ear piercings and providing a safe, sanitary experience in accordance with state, federal and CDC guidelines. (select locations)Demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of computers, systems and programs relevant to the positionMaintain store maintenance and cleanliness standardsComplete all other tasks as directed by store management in assigned time frameComply with all company policies and proceduresJOB REQUIREMENTS:Previous experience in specialty retail is preferred, but not requiredAbility to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to multitask while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the businessPossess an ability to work well in a team environmentProficient in using Microsoft Office and POS SystemsAbility to stand for long periods of timeProfessional conduct, demeanor and attire, in compliance with company dress codeAbility to lift and mobilize medium to large items up to 50 lbs., while utilizing appropriate safety techniques
