Job summary

Talbots in Sea Girt, NJ is seeking a part-time retail associate to deliver exceptional customer service, promote products and build lasting brand relationships. You’ll assist management to grow store business and actively use service enhancers to enhance clienteling and outcomes.

The role requires strong communication skills, fashion awareness, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Take an active role in assisting the management team to build store business.
• Support all service enhancers to build strong relationships including Concierge usage.
• Service multiple customers at a time, multi-task and handle projects simultaneously.
• Be aware of fashion trends and know arrivals, including fit and color knowledge.
• Create outfits for customers using product knowledge.
• Participate in learning opportunities and coaching to improve performance.
• Achieve sales and service metrics through clientelling, outreach, and appointments.
• Complete projects including filling orders and replenishment.

• Have open availability of (15 to 20) hours per week.
• Flexible availability based on the needs of the business including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Do:

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Take an active role in assisting the management team to build store business.
• Support all service enhancers to build strong relationships including active use of Concierge.
• Service multiple customers at a time, multi-task and/or handle projects simultaneously.
• Be aware of fashion trends and seek information about all new arrivals, including product knowledge about fit, color, fashion etc.
• Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits for customers and suggest items to match their needs.
• Maximize individual performance by participating in learning opportunities, accepting direction, coaching and feedback.
• Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including: clientelling/outreach, appointment setting and Talbots Classic Awards.
• Complete projects as assigned including operational assignments: filling orders, replenishment, recovery etc.
